Óscar Contreras is a founding partner of Contreras Velozo, where he leads the civil litigation group.

In his extensive professional career, and before founding Contreras Velozo (2015), he worked at Estudio Arturo Alessandri (1990-1997) (Associate Lawyer); Baker & McKenzie (1997- 2003) (Local Partner) and Allende, Villarroel, Contreras & Eguiguren (2004-2014). His professional practice has been built on matters related to complex civil litigation, corporate affairs, and national and international arbitration, participating in important transactions and businesses.

Likewise, he has extensive corporate experience, having intervened as a partner in charge of important local and international transactions of financial, aeronautical, pharmaceutical, insurance, technological, and natural resources companies. Similarly, he participates as a board member of companies and non-profit foundations and corporations.

He has issued relevant legal reports on civil and commercial matters, especially in complex contractual matters and unfair competition.
