Our History

The prominent lawyers Óscar Contreras and Francisco Velozo came together in 2015 to form Contreras Velozo. The firm was born for those who want access to personalized and expert advice on corporate matters, litigation and complex disputes.

Our firm, which brings together the experience of 30 years of professional practice of excellence at the service of its clients, seeks to provide close advice that privileges not only winning a certain dispute, but mainly safeguarding the interests that have been entrusted to them in an ethical, permanent manner, specialized and timely.

Whether in defense of the interests of natural persons or national or foreign companies, our intention is to provide comprehensive advice, understanding the needs of each of our clients.

To do this, we have specialized practice areas that allow us to deliver solutions in the most diverse matters. Since our firm has specialized in certain matters, we have sought to establish different strategic alliances with various law firms both in Chile and abroad, thus providing a complete range of solutions to the problems that require our intervention.

The group of professionals that makes up Contreras Velozo are graduates and professors from the best Law Schools in the country and have experience in consultancies that require different approaches and approaches, always facing our work from a multidisciplinary perspective that contributes to the success of our clients.

Francisco Velozo Alcaide joined the Albagli Zaliasnik Law Firm to later join as Managing Partner of the Litigation Department in 2007.

Oscar Contreras separates from Baker and McKenzie to join Alliende, Villarroel, Contreras & Eguiguren / Lecaros & Aste as a partner.

Francisco Velozo separates from Albagli Zaliasnik to start Velozo Abogados, a study specialized in complex criminal litigation together with the lawyers Natalia Diuana Sánchez, María Inés Quiroga, Sara Moreno Fernández and Javier Velozo Lawyer’s Office.

In the month of October, Oscar and Francisco joined forces to start a new venture together: Contreras Velozo, expanding their practice through the incorporation of Vicente Eguiguren and Agustín Salas.

The Free Competition area is opened, through the arrival of lawyers Javier Velozo and Pablo Pardo.

Cristian Bawlitza, together with the lawyers Johana Lizana and Cristian De Feudis, join to reinforce the Criminal Litigation Group, opening a Specialized Investigation Division in Corporate Fraud.
